Prime Video has renewed Reacher for a fifth season before Season 4 has even premiered, moving early on one of its biggest action series after Monday’s announcement. Season 4 is still due later in 2025, and production on it wrapped in March.
The streamer said the reacher season 5 announcement reflects the show’s continued success and its global appeal. Reacher stars Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher, the drifter who keeps finding trouble as he moves across the country, and the series has become, in the words of Prime Video executive Peter Friedlander, a franchise built from Lee Child’s novels into a powerhouse on screen that continues to draw tens of millions of viewers around the world.
Season 4 will be based on the 13th book in Child’s series, Gone Tomorrow, and will introduce Chris Marquette, Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan and Kathleen Roberston to the cast. The show is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios, with Nick Santora serving as showrunner and executive producer alongside Ritchson as an executive producer.
The early renewal gives Prime Video a clear signal of confidence in a show that has become one of its most reliable draws before the next chapter has even reached viewers. Friedlander said the series blends high-octane action with character storytelling in a way that keeps resonating, and added that the platform is eager to move ahead with a fifth season while Season 4 is still waiting for its debut. That leaves the bigger question not whether Reacher will continue, but how far the franchise can keep stretching without losing the hard-edged appeal that made it a hit in the first place.
