Forza Horizon 6 has gone gold and is now available for preload on Xbox Series X|S and PC through the Xbox app, a sign the finish line is close with less than two weeks left before launch. Players who preordered the Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition or Premium Edition can start downloading now, and so can anyone with an active Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass membership.
The rollout leaves a narrow window for players to make room on their systems. The game requires at least 135GB on Xbox Series X, 130GB on Xbox Series S and 160GB on PC, where an SSD is also required. Steam preload is coming soon, while those planning to buy on disc can preload today by using the Xbox app on smartphones.
Early Access begins on May 15 for players with the Premium Edition or Premium Upgrade, and the global release follows on May 19. That timing matters because the game is already being pressed onto discs for retail and prepared for its digital release, a routine that only happens when a launch is locked in.
Forza Horizon 6 also arrives with 9 radio stations, the largest number of tracks yet in a Horizon title, including iconic J-pop songs for the first time in the festival. On Xbox Series X|S, the game includes both Quality and Performance rendering modes. Quality mode on Xbox Series X runs in native 4K resolution at 30fps with increased visual fidelity, while Performance mode targets 4K resolution and dynamically scales to maintain 60fps. On Xbox Series S, Quality mode runs at 1440p at 30fps.
The remaining friction is simple and practical: storage space, timing and platform access. Xbox players can preload now, PC players can do the same through the Xbox app, and Steam users are still waiting for the preload window to open. With the game already gold, the only thing left is the calendar.
