has released an official beginner’s guide for , giving players a first look at how the 3v3 tag fighter works before this week’s open beta. The video arrives just ahead of the test, which runs from April 9 to April 11 on and Xbox Series X|S.

The guide, presented by , walks through the game’s standard modes from Training to Story and Ranked, then gets into the basics of combat. Light, medium and heavy attacks all have their place, specials use simplified inputs, and each fighter comes with two Supers and one Ultimate. Players can also mash light attack for an auto-combo, while the Boost mechanic gives every fighter three bars below their health that can be spent on attack and movement buffs.

That matters because Invincible VS is not a small sampler. The game is set to launch later this month with 18 characters and 14 stages, and the beta is meant to give players a free chance to try it before release. Not all of those stages will be available during the test, so what players see this week will not be the full package.

The guide also shows how the match system can swing. The combo meter eventually breaks an opponent out of a string once it fills, but tagging characters can lower that bar and keep pressure going. Active tagging and Assist Breakers are both part of the equation too, with the latter offering an escape from combos at the cost of two boost meters. If a match goes to time, the game shifts into sudden death, pooling all remaining resources into a single fighter whose health drains until one side is left standing.

Skybound is also sweetening the test with rewards. Everyone who plays the beta will get an exclusive costume, and will place the top 20 ranked players from the test in Invincible VS’ final credits. The PC crowd is shut out this time, since the beta is not scheduled for PC, leaving PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the only platforms for the three-day run.
