had a locker at Dodger Stadium before the faced the , a sign the six-foot-10 right-hander could soon get a call to the majors. For now, he is still in Triple-A Oklahoma City, but the team’s pitching picture is shifting fast enough that he could be asked to help on short notice.

Gervase is the tallest pitcher in Dodgers history, and the club has been keeping him close as it works through a stretch shaped by ’s back issue and ’s return to the rotation on Saturday. Dodgers manager said Glasnow likely will not go on the injured list, which leaves the team with the option of using Gervase as a one-day stopgap before sending him back to Oklahoma City.

That possibility is tied to the way Gervase has pitched this year. In 2026, he made nine relief appearances and posted a 3.65 ERA in 12.1 innings, striking out 17 batters while allowing six hits, five runs and nine walks. Most of his work has still come in the minor leagues, and he was down in Triple-A because the Dodgers have so much depth.

The Dodgers may not need to keep him around long if they choose to use him at all. One option is to move down briefly to manage his workload and keep him healthy, which would preserve flexibility without forcing a longer roster shuffle. But Gervase’s locker at the stadium suggested he is part of the conversation now, not later.

If the Dodgers do turn to him after the game against the Braves, it would likely be for a day or two before he heads back to Oklahoma City. That is how a deep pitching staff often works in practice: a player can go from the background to the active roster in a matter of hours, then disappear just as quickly when the next arm is ready.
