Lechonk is taking center stage in Pokémon GO’s next Community Day on Saturday, May 9, 2026, with the ham-shaped Pokémon appearing more often in the wild from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. Players who are lucky may also run into a Shiny Lechonk during the event.
The monthly event has been part of Pokémon GO since January 2018, and May’s edition will again give players a short window to stock up. Evolving Lechonk into Oinkologne costs 50 Lechonk Candies, and any Oinkologne evolved between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. local time on May 9 will know Mud Slap as a Fast Attack.
That exclusive move makes the event more than a simple spawn boost. Community Day is built around a featured Pokémon for a few hours, with higher Shiny odds and extra perks such as exclusive attacks through evolution and longer-lasting Lure Modules. Pokémon featured in Community Days from January through November return in December for a two-day event, while Community Day Classic, which began in January 2022, revisits the format of earlier editions.
Players who want more from the day can buy the Community Day Special Research Story, Don’t Hog the Spotlight, for US$1.99 or US$2.00, or the equivalent in local currency. Tickets are available in-game and through the Pokémon GO Web Store via a special bundle, giving Niantic another way to push the event beyond the free hours on the clock.
The timing leaves little margin for anyone trying to catch, evolve and battle before the window closes. For Lechonk fans, May 9 is not just another Saturday; it is the only day Oinkologne can leave the event with Mud Slap and the one day a month when the pig Pokémon moves to the front of the line.
