NBC has renewed The Fall And Rise Of Reggie Dinkins for a second season, ordering 10 more episodes after the freshman comedy’s breakout start. The sports mokumentary premiered on January 18 and drew more than 14 million viewers, giving the network a hit it could not ignore.
said the show was the No. 1 comedy telecast of the season across all broadcast networks and the No. 1 new comedy of the 2025-26 season in the 18-49 demo. That made the renewal less a bet than a response to a title that had already delivered. For a network looking for a broad comedy audience, the numbers landed fast and loudly.
Tracy Morgan stars as Reggie Dinkins, the former football star at the center of the series, with Daniel Radcliffe as award-winning filmmaker Arthur Tobin. The cast also includes Erika Alexander as Monica, Reggie Dinkins’ ex-wife and the mother of their teenage son Carmelo, Jalyn Hall as Carmelo, Precious Way as Brina, Reggie’s serious girlfriend, and Bobby Moynihan as his best friend Rusty.
The series follows Reggie as he tries to rehabilitate his image with Tobin, a setup that gives the show its comic friction. Robert Carlock and Sam Means serve as co-showrunners, writers and executive producers, with Tina Fey, Morgan, Eric Gurian and David Miner also executive producing. Universal Television produces the series, along with Little Stranger, Inc., 3 Arts Entertainment, Bevel Gears, Means End Productions and Streetlife Productions, Inc.
The renewal answers the question raised by the premiere: NBC had a clear audience, and it moved quickly to keep it. For a first-season comedy to clear 14 million viewers and claim the season’s top comedy slot, a second season was not just likely. It was the obvious next step.
