Göztepe and Galatasaray met at 20.00 in a postponed Trendyol Süper Lig match from the 27th week, with two notable absences shaping the visitors’ lineup. Galatasaray left Abdülkerim Bardakcı and Victor Osimhen out of the squad.
Bardakcı was unavailable because of a suspension after he received a second yellow card and then a red card at the end of last week’s Trabzonspor-Galatasaray match. Osimhen missed the game because of injury after coming off in the Liverpool-Galatasaray match in the UEFA Champions League round of 16, and his treatment is still continuing.
That left Galatasaray to play a match described as critical for both teams without two of its most recognizable names. The club has not made an official announcement on when Osimhen will return to the pitch, even though he had been expected to be available for the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe match on 26 April 2026.

The tension around the fixture came from the gap between expectation and reality. Galatasaray had one defender out because of discipline and one forward out because of injury, and those are the kinds of absences that can change the shape of a season even before the first whistle. For now, the postponed league match offered another reminder that the club is still managing both on-field urgency and a recovery timeline it has not yet put on the record.
