The Dodgers did not just win; they controlled every phase, with Teoscar Hernández opening the scoring with a first-inning home run off Max Scherzer, Dalton Rushing adding two homers, and Shohei Ohtani clearing the center-field wall in the sixth inning.
Toronto’s night unraveled early when Scherzer lasted only two innings because of forearm tendinitis. The Blue Jays managed four hits before the ninth inning and could not make anything of four walks issued by Dodgers starter Justin Wrobleski. Ernie Clement drove in Toronto’s first run with an RBI single or bloop hit into center field, but that was about the only break the home side found. Andy Pages later turned in a running catch in the third inning, another snapshot of how little room Toronto had to work with.

Schneider’s club still got something unusual at the end, when Tyler Heineman pitched the ninth by throwing slow pitches after earlier struggles, but by then the outcome was settled. The Dodgers leave Toronto with a lopsided win and a reminder that the rematch did not resemble the original at all.
