UFC 330 will land in Philadelphia on Saturday, August 15, bringing a championship bout back to Xfinity Mobile Arena for the first time in fifteen years. UFC announced the event on its website after Dana White and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro made the news public on Pat McAfee’s show.
The fight card will be available exclusively on Paramount+ in the United States and Latin America, while ticket information is expected in the coming weeks. Fans can register their interest at UFC.com/Philly.
The return gives Philadelphia another major sports event in a year already packed with them. White said the city is hosting some of the biggest sporting events this year as part of the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, and said fifteen years had passed since the UFC last brought a numbered event to the city, making now the right time to go back.
The promotion last brought a numbered card to the venue on August 6, 2011, when UFC 133 was held at the then named Wells Fargo Center and was headlined by Rashad Evans and Tito Ortiz. Philadelphia’s most recent UFC event came on March 30, 2019, when Justin Gaethje knocked out Edson Barboza and earned Fight of the Night honors.
Shapiro said Pennsylvania was thrilled to host UFC 330 in Philadelphia, calling it the first time a championship bout is coming back to the Commonwealth in fifteen years. Daniel J. Hilferty said the arena was proud to welcome the UFC back in a year when the eyes of the world will be on Philadelphia. The event also comes as Pennsylvania prepares to host the NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, the PGA Championship in Newtown Square and the FIFA World Cup in Philadelphia in 2026.
What remains unsettled is the card itself. UFC has not yet announced the fighters for UFC 330, leaving the announcement of the matchup and the ticket release as the next milestones for a city getting ready for its biggest mixed martial arts night in years.
