That leaves Abhishek Sharma as one of the few batters capable of matching the Royals for strike rate, even if not always for certainty. He is striking at 218.64, but inconsistency has kept Hyderabad from leaning on his numbers the way Rajasthan are leaning on theirs. If the pitch and the heat reward clean hitting early, Sunrisers can still force a game into the kind of shootout they prefer. If not, their margin for error narrows fast.

Sunrisers have won the last four IPL fixtures against Rajasthan Royals: by four wickets at Jaipur on May 7, 2023, by one run at Hyderabad on May 2, 2024, by 36 runs at Chennai on May 24, 2024, and by 44 runs at Hyderabad on March 23, 2025. Rajasthan’s last win in the series came on April 2, 2023, when they beat Sunrisers by 72 runs at Hyderabad.
