San Antonio hosted Philadelphia at the Frost Bank Center on April 6, 2026, with the Spurs and 76ers finishing the night in very different places. Tipoff was set for 7:00 PM CT, and the most intriguing matchup on the floor was Dylan Harper against VJ Edgecombe.

The Spurs returned home to start a four-game home stand with four games left in the season, already out of the race for the top of the standings but still working toward the playoffs. Oklahoma City was not expected to lose three of its four remaining games, which meant the standings were effectively set. For San Antonio, the focus had shifted from chasing position to sharpening habits, and this game offered one more chance to do that against a Philadelphia team that still had pieces to sort through.

San Antonio had no listed injuries, and Victor Wembanyama had no lasting effects from the hard fall he took Saturday in Denver after being tripped. That mattered because the Spurs need him on the floor as they learn from a loss in Denver and turn toward the postseason. The clean injury report also gave the home crowd a chance to see the roster at full strength as the regular season wound down.

Philadelphia, by contrast, arrived with several questions attached to its lineup. Tyrese Maxey was playing with a splint on his injured finger, Cameron Payne was out with a hamstring injury, and Joel Embiid and Paul George were expected to be ready to go. That mix made the 76ers harder to read and gave the night a different edge: one team trying to fine-tune for what comes next, the other trying to manage bodies while still putting a competitive group on the court.

For the Spurs, the value of the game was less about the standings than the habits. With the postseason ahead, every possession against a veteran Eastern Conference opponent had some use, whether it came from Harper’s shot-making, Edgecombe’s response, or Wembanyama’s presence in the middle. The final four games will not change the larger shape of San Antonio’s season, but they will shape how ready the team looks when the games start to count most.
