Newtown Square will see road closures, traffic controls and a drone ban when the Pga Championship 2026 arrives at Aronimink Golf Club from May 11 to 17. St. Davids Road will be shut on all tournament days except for vehicles with the right hang tags, and closures will run from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Police said St. Davids Road could reopen as early as 6 p.m. on some days if play allows. School buses, trash pickups and lawn and at-home medical services will be allowed through if they have the proper markings and addresses along that route. Residents are being urged to reschedule services for that week if they can, because delays are expected getting into affected neighborhoods.
Newtown Township Police said they will help manage traffic on surrounding roadways to lessen the disruption, while emergency services in the township will remain staffed at normal levels. All emergency services tied to the tournament are supplemental and paid for by the PGA, officials said.

The Federal Aviation Administration has also authorized a no-fly zone for unauthorized aircraft, including drones, around Aronimink Golf Club during the tournament dates. Drone detection and mitigation teams will handle any unauthorized aircraft use. Weather delays could push play to May 18.
