and welcomed their second child, Remy, last week, and the Masters champion said Sunday that the family was already together at Augusta National. The full Scheffler family was visible on-site as they settled in for Masters week, with Meredith and Bennett watching him warm up for an afternoon practice round.

Scheffler said he and his wife had "another boy a couple of weeks ago," and called the stretch "really nice and fun." Remy was nearby in a stroller with Scheffler's parents, Scott and Diane, while Bennett, who is nearing his second birthday after being born in May 2024, stayed close as well. The family now has two boys under the age of 2, a fast-moving change for a player who was already juggling a major championship week.

The news was first reported by the and later confirmed by Scheffler's agent to . On Tuesday, Scheffler said in his pretournament press conference that he was getting plenty of sleep, a line that fit the picture he painted again Sunday. "I'm getting plenty of sleep," he said. "My wife's a trooper," and, "Yeah, having a newborn is always an interesting thing, but Remy is so young right now, they sleep a lot of the day." He added that he had "been able to get a decent amount of sleep."

That matters because Scheffler arrived at Augusta after missing the Texas Children’s Houston Open for family reasons in anticipation of Remy's birth. He had not played competitively since THE PLAYERS Championship, where he finished tied for 22nd, after opening the year with a win at The American Express and adding top-five finishes at the WM Phoenix Open and AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. His finish outside the top 10 at The Genesis Invitational snapped a modern-era record of 18 consecutive top-10 finishes.

Scheffler had planned to use at least one of the Texas events to prepare for the Masters, but family came first. He said Meredith liked the end sounds in the name and that the couple liked Remy without any special meaning behind it. The broader question now is how much the family turnaround and the pause in competition will matter once the two-time Masters champion starts the tournament itself.
