transfer guard is set to visit from April 12-14, a stop that could quickly shape the next phase of the Hoosiers' search for backcourt help. Burton is also scheduled to visit .

Burton spent three seasons at Notre Dame, and his last one was cut to 10 games by injury. Even in that shortened stretch, he averaged 21.3 points per game, underscoring why he remains one of the most productive guards in the portal. Indiana's interest comes with the kind of timing that can matter in April: roster decisions are moving fast, and experienced perimeter scoring is at a premium.

The 6-foot, 190-pound guard has almost exclusively played point guard in his career, and his numbers show both the burden and the benefit that came with that role. He averaged 3.8 assists and 3.2 turnovers for his career, along with 3.4 rebounds per game, while also averaging 1.8 steals per game. He has been a constant offensive focal point, one who can create his own shot and force defenses to react before they are set.

Burton's scoring profile has been strong inside the arc. He shot 55.7% on twos through 10 games in 2024-25 and has made 48% of his twos for his career. He was less efficient from deep, making 30.6% from 3-point range through 10 games last season and 33.2% on threes for his career. On 128 3-point attempts in 2024-25, he connected at 37.6%, and he shot 40.2% in ACC games.

He also drew more than 5.3 fouls per game over the last two seasons and turned that pressure into points at the line. Burton made 91.7% of his free throws in the injury-shortened 2024-25 season and 84.7% for his career, giving him a reliable way to score when the jumper is not falling. He still has at least one year of eligibility left, and he could have two years if he receives a medical hardship waiver for the 2025-26 season.

Burton's track record is long enough to make the visits worth watching. He was in 2023 after a senior season at Penn H.S. in northern Indiana, where he averaged 30.3 points per game. That resume makes him one of the more proven guards available, but it also points to the fit question that will follow him wherever he goes. Indiana would need a heavy dose of high ball screen offense with spaced shooters to play to Burton's strengths, and whether that is part of the staff's plan may tell the rest of the story.

For now, the visit gives Indiana a direct look at a player who has already been through the grind of a major conference role and has shown he can carry a high offensive load. The next step is whether that experience lines up with what the Hoosiers need, and whether Burton sees a path that lets him attack the way he always has.
