About 27,000 fans are expected at Carrow Road on Saturday as Norwich City and Ipswich Town meet in the latest East Anglian derby, with kickoff set for 12.30pm.
The match brings one of the oldest rivalries in English football back into the spotlight, but the journey to the ground is expected to be part of the story too. Train issues, roadworks and a right-wing protest are all expected to cause disruption this morning as supporters head across Norwich for the game.
The last East Anglian derby was played at Portman Road on October 5, 2025, when Ipswich won 3-1. That result will still be fresh in the minds of both sets of fans as the balance of the rivalry shifts back to Carrow Road, where Norwich will be looking to respond in front of a large home crowd.
For a fixture that already carries its own pressure, the timing makes today different. With tens of thousands making the trip and disruption building before the first whistle, the derby is set to begin long before the players walk out.
