Booker T says he is not done yet, and he already has an opponent in mind if he decides to leave the ring for good: Trick Williams. The 61-year-old Hall of Famer said he could be tempted by a retirement match, but only if it is staged at WrestleMania next year.
The talk surfaced after Triple H posted a video of Booker joking about the idea, and Booker expanded on it on the latest edition of his Hall of Fame podcast. He said, “Never say never, bro. I’m not gonna put myself totally in the retirement category just yet. I don’t know. I might get the itch to want to have a retirement match, and go out there and do something with one of the young guys.”
Booker made clear he has a specific name in mind. “Doing something with somebody that I really, really love what they’re doing as far as what Trick Williams is doing right now. Heck yeah, man…of course I would do it,” he said. “But I would definitely have to get myself ready for something like that. It would have to be next year at ‘Mania. Yeah, I could do that.”
The comments carry some weight because Booker has not wrestled a proper match under the WWE banner since 2012, even though he last entered the ring for his Reality of Wrestling promotion in January 2025. That means any serious return would need planning, conditioning and the kind of event-level setting Booker described, not a one-off surprise appearance.
There is still a gap between interest and action. Booker has not put himself in the retirement category, and he said plainly he would need to get himself ready before taking a match like that. For now, the signal is simple: if the itch comes, trick williams is the name Booker wants across from him, and WrestleMania 43 is the only stage he says would fit.
