Houston’s weather turns more unsettled Thursday, and the better chance for showers and thunderstorms is expected to hold through Friday and Saturday as a stronger system moves in. Some of the storms could drop brief heavier rain, but flooding does not appear to be a major issue at this point.

meteorologist said rain chances are going up for Houston as more clouds and steamy Gulf air return. That will make the city feel more uncomfortable, with more humidity and slightly hotter temperatures, while highs the next few days stay near 80.

For the first part of April, temperatures are expected to remain close to normal, keeping Houston safely away from record heat for now. Most areas will likely pick up around an inch or less through Saturday, with the wetter pattern leaving the city feeling muggy even where storms never turn heavy.
