YouTube Premium is getting more expensive in the United States, with the standard individual plan rising by $2 a month to $15.99 and the five-person Family plan climbing to $26.99. Premium Lite is also going up, to $8.99 monthly from $7.99.
The new prices are already live for new signups, and existing subscribers are beginning to be notified that the higher rates will show up on their June 7, 2026 billing date. The company last raised US Premium prices in 2023, while many international users saw increases in late 2024.
The latest jump follows price hikes for both Netflix and Amazon Prime Video last month, adding another subscription cost for households that already juggle several streaming bills. Premium Lite still removes most ads, but it does not include YouTube Music, making it the cheaper option for viewers who want fewer interruptions without the full bundle.

The timing leaves subscribers with a simple choice: pay more, cut back, or stick with the lower-tier plan. For users who keep Premium, the higher charge will arrive automatically when their June 7 billing date comes around.
