A Stratford resident won $100,000 on a CASH 5 ticket sold recently at 24 7 Express at 1607 Barnum Ave. in Stratford, giving the city a fresh ct lottery win to celebrate.
The ticket was sold at the neighborhood store, but the winner’s name has not been released. That changed on Oct. 1, 2025, when a new Connecticut law took effect and the CT Lottery stopped publishing winners’ names without their written consent.
The result fits the kind of local payoff that turns an ordinary stop into a talking point. A $100,000 prize is large enough to matter, and in this case the money stayed tied to Stratford through both the player and the retailer.
The CT Lottery says it now leaves the choice of public disclosure to the winner under the new law. So the answer to the most immediate question is simple: the prize is real, the winner is local, and the name will remain private unless the person signs off on release.
