7 Brew Coffee Shop is set to open in Helotes at 12405 Bandera Road after the company demolishes the existing Sonic at the same site for a new $1 million build. Construction on the ground-up 510 square-foot coffee shop is slated to start in mid-July and wrap up by the beginning of October.
If permitting and construction stay on track, the coffee brand should debut in Helotes by fall. Robert Williams is listed as the owner of the new location, which adds another piece to 7 Brew’s push across the Greater San Antonio region.
The project replaces a familiar drive-thru on a busy stretch of Bandera Road with a brand that has grown fast since it started in 2017 as a single drive-thru coffee stand in Rogers, Arkansas, serving seven signature drinks. 7 Brew now describes itself as much more than a coffee stand, built around kindness, speed, energy and atmosphere, and says its customizable menu offers more than 20,000 combinations.
That growth helps explain the scale of the Helotes move. What began as a small Arkansas operation has turned into a national brand with nearly 500 locations, and the Bandera Road project shows how aggressively it is filling in major Texas markets. The tradeoff is visible at the site itself: a new coffee shop is coming only because the Sonic already there is being torn down.
For Helotes drivers, the change is straightforward. A Sonic is on the way out, and a 7 Brew is on the way in, with fall now the target if the work starts on schedule and the build goes as planned.
