The New Orleans Saints signed wide receiver Brock Rechsteiner in May 2026, bringing in the 6-2, 225-pound receiver after he took part in rookie minicamp on a tryout basis the previous weekend. To make room, the Saints placed offensive lineman Nick Saldiveri on Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform.
The move gives brock rechsteiner a path onto the roster after he impressed enough during the team’s rookie work at the Ochsner Sports Performance Center on May 9, 2026. Saints executive Mickey Loomis announced the signing on Saturday, adding a player who spent the past weekend with the club and now moves from tryout status to an official contract.
Rechsteiner spent four seasons at Jacksonville State from 2022 to 2025 and appeared in 40 games. He finished his college career with 53 receptions for 629 yards and seven touchdowns, and his best production came in 2025, when he played in 13 games and posted 35 catches for 383 yards and five touchdowns. He also added three rushes for 17 yards and one touchdown that season.
The Saints are betting on a receiver whose size and production give him a clear résumé, even if his college role was built through a tryout path rather than a draft weekend. Rechsteiner, a native of Woodstock, Georgia, now joins a roster that has already made one notable early adjustment by sidelining Saldiveri on PUP.
The next question is whether Rechsteiner can turn a minicamp opportunity into a longer look when the Saints continue their offseason work.
