For the Saints, the signing fits a pattern that has defined the first stretch of the offseason: keep adding bodies, keep testing speed and size, and sort out who can survive the next round. The receiver group is still taking shape, and Rechsteiner arrives as the latest rookie to be thrown into that competition, much like other young players trying to turn a brief opening into something more permanent. Rechsteiner spent the last three seasons with the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in Conference USA, catching 53 passes for 629 yards and seven touchdowns. In the 2025 campaign, he had 36 receptions for 383 yards and a team-best five scores, then went undrafted and got an initial tryout with the Tennessee Titans before getting another chance with New Orleans. He also previously signed a deal with the WWE NIL program, a link that connects him to a family name already familiar outside football, after Scott Steiner and Rick Steiner were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022 and Bron Breaker, born Bronson Rechsteiner, made his WWE debut in 2020.
