Saints sign Brock Rechsteiner after rookie minicamp tryout

The signed undrafted wide receiver over the weekend after giving him a rookie minicamp tryout, adding another young target to a receiver room that already includes first-round pick , fourth-round selection and sixth-rounder Barion Brown.

Nick Underhill of first reported the move. Rechsteiner, the son of , is listed at 6-foot-1 and 222 pounds and posted a 4.48 in the 40, the kind of profile that keeps a player on the edge of a roster long enough for coaches to take a closer look.

For the Saints, the signing fits a pattern that has defined the first stretch of the offseason: keep adding bodies, keep testing speed and size, and sort out who can survive the next round. The receiver group is still taking shape, and Rechsteiner arrives as the latest rookie to be thrown into that competition, much like other young players trying to turn a brief opening into something more permanent. The broader roster conversations around New Orleans have not slowed either, with the Alvin Kamara debate growing after Tyrann Mathieu blasted Saints officials, while another Saints-related story followed Perkins heading to Falcons rookie camp after a draft-day reveal.

Rechsteiner spent the last three seasons with the in Conference USA, catching 53 passes for 629 yards and seven touchdowns. In the 2025 campaign, he had 36 receptions for 383 yards and a team-best five scores, then went undrafted and got an initial tryout with the Tennessee Titans before getting another chance with New Orleans. He also previously signed a deal with the WWE NIL program, a link that connects him to a family name already familiar outside football, after Scott Steiner and were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022 and Bron Breaker, born Bronson Rechsteiner, made his WWE debut in 2020.

What happens next is straightforward: Rechsteiner will compete for a spot at Saints training camp later this summer. For a player who has already had to wait for one opportunity, the next few weeks will decide whether his name stays on the roster sheet or fades back into the long list of tryout stories that never reach camp.
