A body found May 9 near Verkamp's Visitor Center on the Grand Canyon's South Rim was identified as , the 26-year-old student who had been reported missing April 28.

Krishna's family said they last heard from him on April 27. The identification came the same day the body was discovered, but the cause of death remains unknown.

Krishna had told family members he was traveling to Las Vegas and planned to stop at the Grand Canyon's South Rim. He was expected back home in Tempe for finals and a job interview, a schedule that never unfolded as planned.

The case now sits with the and the medical examiner's office, which are still investigating how Krishna died and what happened between the last family contact on April 27 and the discovery near Verkamp's Visitor Center on May 9.
