Paulina Gretzky caddied for Dustin Johnson at the Masters Par 3 Contest on Wednesday, and the former Masters champion finished 1-over par in the lighthearted event held before the tournament begins at Augusta National.
Gretzky was spotted with Nicole Willett during the outing, a familiar scene for a family-focused tradition she has joined for several years. Johnson, who won his first green jacket in 2020, was back at the Masters again this week while also continuing his run on LIV Golf.
The 2020 victory remains the high point of Johnson's Masters record. He set the tournament mark with a 20-under-par total that November, when the event was pushed back because of the coronavirus pandemic. He has since become one of the first golfers to join LIV Golf, playing his first event in June 2022 and collecting three individual wins, including the Boston Invitational in September 2022, LIV Golf Tulsa in 2023 and LIV Golf Las Vegas in February 2024.
That success has slowed. Johnson had not won an event since February 2024 and stood 26th in the LIV Golf standings through five events this season, with his best finish a tie for 10th in Singapore. Still, he remained in the field for the 2026 Masters and was set to tee off in the first round at 9:43 a.m. ET on Thursday.
The Par 3 Contest is meant for fun and family, and Johnson's appearance with Gretzky fit that tone. Aaron Rai won the event on April 8, but the more revealing number for Johnson was the one that came after his name: 1-over, a modest showing on a day built more for memory than momentum.
