Discord Nitro subscribers now get a starter edition of Xbox Game Pass after Xbox and Discord announced a new partnership on Monday. The bundle gives Nitro users access to more than 50 Xbox and PC games to download and play, plus 10 hours of cloud gaming streaming every month.
The starter edition includes games such as DayZ, Deep Rock Galactic, Fallout 4, Grounded, Overcooked 2 and Stardew Valley. Discord said Nitro membership is still the same price, at $10 a month or $100 for a yearlong subscription, and that Game Pass is now part of it.
That makes the deal immediate for existing Nitro users, who began receiving the starter edition on Monday. It also folds one of gaming’s biggest subscription products into a service that already sells itself as a premium version of Discord, with custom per-server profiles, larger file uploads, custom emojis and other extras.
The move extends a relationship that has been building for years. Discord has already been integrated into PlayStation and Xbox ecosystems, and this latest tie-up pushes the connection further by putting a Game Pass offer directly into Nitro rather than treating it as a separate add-on.
The question now is less whether the partnership is real than how far it will go. For subscribers, the answer is already clear: Discord Nitro is keeping its price, and the Xbox Game Pass starter edition is now included.
