Bragantino, by contrast, have found results in both domestic and continental play. They thrashed Blooming 6-0 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra in matchweek four of the Sudamericana and moved to six points in Group H, then drew level with Carabobo, who hold second place and the head-to-head advantage after a 1-0 win over the Sao Paulo outfit. River Plate lead the group with 10 points, and Bragantino still have a decisive final group match against Carabobo to come.
The recent history also leans Bragantino's way. The two sides have met eight times since 2023, with Santos winning twice, Bragantino winning four times and the other two ending in draws. That makes Sunday's meeting less about reputation than about form, and right now the visitors have more of it. Santos need a result to stop the drift; Bragantino have a chance to turn a promising week into a stronger run.
