Inter were also hoping to lift the Coppa Italia, with the final against Lazio set for May 13, 2026, at the Stadio Olimpico. Marotta said that if the season ends with both trophies, it would be truly extraordinary, and for him personally it would mark a 10th Scudetto at two different clubs. He has won league titles with Juventus and Inter, and this would be his first as a club president.
The night in Milan is about more than one point. It is a chance for Inter to seal the championship on their own turf at last, and for Chivu to turn a brave appointment into a season that could define both his rise and the club's year.
