The Braves were down five runs in the first inning and still found a way to win. Michael Harris II, pinch-hitting in the ninth, drove a two-run home run to right field and gave Atlanta an 8-6 comeback victory over the Rockies on May 1, 2026.
Colorado struck Grant Holmes for five runs in the opening inning and led 6-2 when the eighth began, but the game flipped fast. Mauricio Dubón hit a bases-clearing triple in the top of the inning, Austin Riley followed with a sacrifice fly to tie it at 6-6, and Harris finished the rally after entering off the bench.
The win was Atlanta’s eighth straight run without reply and moved the Braves to 23-10. Matt Olson added his team-high 10th home run of the season, and Harris kept filling the box score with seven homers, 22 RBIs and a.324/.358/.569 line.
The comeback carried extra weight because Atlanta entered the game with the best record in Major League Baseball and remained the only team in the NL East with a winning mark. That is the kind of gap that matters in May, when good teams are supposed to separate themselves by turning losses like this into wins.
The Rockies had the game in hand deep into the night, but they could not close it. By the time Harris sent one to right field in the ninth, the loss had turned from a strong start into another reminder that a lead means little if it does not survive the late innings.
