AUGUSTA, Georgia — Akshay Bhatia arrived at the 2026 Masters with one of golf’s biggest stages in front of him and his wife, Presleigh Schultz, beside him. Bhatia is among the favorites at Augusta National, where the pressure climbs with every shot and every step.
The relationship has been part of his rise for years. Schultz caddied for Bhatia at The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2022, when he won by two strokes, and the two got engaged in September 2023 before marrying in December 2025. Bhatia later said Schultz travels every week with him and makes his peanut and jelly sandwiches every morning, a routine that has become part of life on the road.
That support has mattered through the swings of a young career. Bhatia won his first PGA Tour title at the Barracuda Championship in July last year, and he has said Schultz has seen him cry in hotel rooms and celebrate on better days, too. She had no idea what golf was when they met, he said, but she has stayed through the grind of 72-hole weeks and the hard edges that come with chasing wins.
Schultz keeps a relatively low profile despite having more than 100,000 followers on TikTok and 46,000 on Instagram, where she regularly shares photos from Bhatia’s PGA Tour life. At Augusta, the couple’s story adds a quieter layer to the louder one: a player trying to win the Masters while the person who has been there for the whole climb watches from close range.
Bhatia has said Schultz keeps him grounded when he starts to doubt himself, telling him he is good even in the moments when he questions it. If he handles Augusta the way he has handled the rest of the journey, that support may be part of what carries him through the final stretch.
