Power has been restored after an outage left parts of the Miami Valley without electricity early Wednesday. As of 4:05 a.m., almost 100 customers were still without power, down from as many as 2,800 outages reported just after 3 a.m.

The outage map showed almost 1,800 AES Ohio customers without power at 3:35 a.m. Most of the outages were in Montgomery County, and several people across the Miami Valley were affected while the system worked its way back up through the morning.

That sharp drop from 2,800 outages to almost 100 within about an hour points to a fast restoration effort. By 4:05 a.m., the disruption had been reduced to a small number of customers, ending what was an early-morning outage for parts of the region.

The question now is not whether the outage ended, but whether any pockets of service were still lagging behind the broader restoration across Montgomery County and the rest of the Miami Valley.
