Aaron Harang was inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame class of 2026 on Saturday, taking his place alongside Brandon Phillips, Reggie Sanders and Lou Piniella ahead of Cincinnati’s game. Harang, a starting pitcher for the Reds from 2003 to 2010, was honored in front of a crowd that included several other Hall of Famers already linked to the franchise.
Harang’s case was built on innings and strikeouts. In 2006, he led the National League with 216 strikeouts, and he led the Reds in strikeouts in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009. That run made him one of the defining pitchers of the era for Cincinnati and a central figure in the club’s pitching staff for eight seasons.
During the ceremony, Harang said, “Standing here tonight feels like home. Cincinnati is home.” It was a fitting line for a player whose best years came in the city and whose name drew applause from fans and former teammates alike.
The induction also underscored how closely tied Harang remains to the Reds’ history. Several other Reds Hall of Famers attended, including Chris Sabo, Bronson Arroyo, Eric Davis, Cesar Geronimo, Ken Griffey Sr., Tony Perez and Johnny Bench, giving the ceremony the feel of a reunion as much as a tribute. For Cincinnati, the class of 2026 added a familiar arm to a Hall already filled with the franchise’s most recognizable names.
