Davey Grant returns to the UFC Fight Night 274 main card on Saturday night in Las Vegas, where the 40-year-old bantamweight is scheduled to face Adrian Luna Martinetti at the Meta APEX. The bout is expected to stream live on Paramount+ at 9:10 p.m. ET.
Grant, 15-8 in MMA and 8-7 in the UFC, is trying to halt another skid after Charles Jourdain submitted him in the first round in October. Before that loss, Grant had put together back-to-back wins over Ramon Taveras and Da'Mon Blackshear, and he has fallen in consecutive fights twice before in his career. Dan Tom described him as the "older model" until the wheels fall off, a line that fits the way he has built a reputation as a hard-charging action fighter in one of the sport's most unforgiving divisions.
Martinetti brings a 17-1 record into his first UFC appearance and is making his debut at age 30 after beating Mark Vologdin by unanimous decision on Dana White's Contender Series. The betting line has Grant at -129 and Martinetti at +104 via FanDuel, a slight market edge that reflects the veteran's UFC experience even against a newcomer with a strong record.
That contrast is the point of the matchup. Grant has spent years surviving and rebuilding inside the bantamweight division, while Martinetti arrives with no UFC history and a chance to make an immediate impression on a crowded card. Saturday's meeting gives Grant a chance to steady his place and gives Martinetti his first real test under the UFC banner.
The wrinkle is that Grant's style has long made him both durable and vulnerable. He can drag fights into messy exchanges, but that approach has also produced the kind of damage that leaves little margin for error, and another loss would deepen questions about how far his veteran formula can still carry him.
