The Browns reached the final day of the 2026 NFL Draft with five total picks in the final four rounds, giving them more swings than most teams still on the board. Cleveland has four selections in the fifth round at Nos. 146, 148, 149 and 152 overall, plus one pick in the seventh round at No. 248.
That kind of volume matters on a day built around value. The Browns made three trades on the second night of the draft to move around the board and add draft capital, a sign they wanted flexibility as the talent pool thinned.
Now the question is which names fit the room, and the club has a set of prospects with different kinds of appeal. Cornerback Darien McCoy played two collegiate seasons, first at Oregon State in 2023 and then at Tennessee in 2024, and he produced 31 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions, seven passes defensed and one fumble recovery at Oregon State before finishing with 44 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions and nine passes defensed at Tennessee. His path also includes a major concern: McCoy tore his ACL in January 2025 and missed the entirety of the 2025 season.
There is more than one way to spend those picks. Defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton played all four years at Penn State and appeared in 55 games, finishing with 127 tackles, 34.5 tackles for loss, 23.5 sacks, two interceptions, eight passes defensed, two fumble recoveries and seven forced fumbles. In 2025, Dennis-Sutton generated 45 total pressures as a pass rusher according to PFF, a number that will stand out to any team looking for disruption off the edge.
Safety Kitan Abney also brings a clear statistical profile. He played three seasons at Arizona State and recorded 98 tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, six interceptions, 21 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. In 2025, Abney broke up nine passes in coverage and gave up 32 receptions in coverage according to PFF, a mix of production and leakage that teams will have to sort through.
Linebacker Kyle Louis spent all four years at Pitt and appeared in 37 career games, piling up 201 tackles, 25.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, six interceptions, six passes defensed, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. He even returned an interception for a touchdown in 2024. Defensive tackle Aaron Muhammad played three seasons at Texas and appeared in 41 career games, finishing with 97 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions and 16 passes defensed while allowing a 57.8 passer rating when targeted in 2025 according to PFF.
Cleveland’s board also includes depth targets on offense. Offensive lineman Carson Hecht played all four years at Kansas State after redshirting in 2021 and appeared in 42 career games with 25 earned starts. He was the full-time starter in 2024 and 2025 and allowed zero sacks during those two seasons. Tight end Dorian Joly began at Connecticut, spent two seasons there, then transferred to North Carolina State in 2024 and started 24 of 25 games in his final two collegiate seasons. At North Carolina State, Joly had 92 receptions for 1,150 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.
The Browns could also consider edge help in Jackson, who started at Maryland in 2021, transferred to Miami for one season in 2022 and then moved to Florida State for three seasons from 2023 to 2025. At Florida State, Jackson appeared in 25 career games and recorded 80 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, one pass defensed and one forced fumble. With five picks in hand and three trades already made, Cleveland has set itself up to choose whether to chase upside, insurance or immediate depth. Day 3 should show which of those needs matters most.
