Douglas arrives in Miami after a steady climb through college football. He played at Florida in 2022 and 2023 before spending the last two seasons at Texas Tech, where he finished his career with 135 receptions for 2,031 yards and 16 touchdowns.

The pick came in the third round, where the Dolphins held three selections. Miami had already taken tackle Kadyn Proctor and cornerback Chris Johnson in the first round, then linebacker in the second, before turning back to offense with Douglas.

The move gives the Dolphins a young receiver to develop as they try to rebuild that room after losing and this offseason. For Douglas, the jump to the NFL comes with a clear path and a roster opening that did not exist a year ago.

What Miami does with its other third-round picks will shape how quickly the front office can turn this draft into help for a team trying to reset one of the league's most recognizable offenses.
