Another big moment from the trade for Micah Parsons has come and gone at the 2026 NFL Draft, and the Green Bay Packers are still waiting for their first pick. They are scheduled to make that selection at No. 52 overall, and the Day 2 board points to South Carolina cornerback Brandon Cisse as the favorite to land in Green Bay.
The projection comes from a review of eight Day 2 mock drafts for the Packers' first selection, and it lines up with the idea that Green Bay can finally start shaping the roster around a defense that switched to a 3-4 look this offseason. Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said Thursday, “I didn’t think there were any major surprises,” after the first round, but the second day still carries a clear layer of uncertainty because the Packers are not on the board until 52.
That wait matters because several names that could have fit Green Bay are already being pushed off the board in those mock drafts. Receivers Denzel Boston and Germie Bernard appear unlikely to be available when the Packers pick, along with defensive tackle Kayden McDonald and edge rusher T.J. Parker. At cornerback, Aveion Terrell, Colton Hood and Jermod McCoy also show up as players who may be gone before Green Bay gets a turn.
McCoy is the name to watch most closely going into Day 2. The biggest question is how far he will fall because of the knee concerns that have hovered over him, and that uncertainty is part of what makes the Packers' spot at 52 so hard to pin down. If McCoy drops farther than expected, the board could change quickly. If he does not, Green Bay may be left choosing between the next tier of corners or a different direction entirely.
For now, the mock drafts are telling the same story: the Packers' first real chance to make a move comes early on Day 2, and the most common answer to what they will do is Cisse. That does not make the pick certain, but it does show where the league's draft projections think Green Bay is leaning as the 2026 NFL Draft moves into its next round of decisions.
