went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI on Wednesday, helping Tampa Bay beat the 6-1. His solo shot in the third inning off a two-seamer traveled 404 feet and stood as Tampa Bay's only extra-base hit of the game.

The homer was Caminero's sixth of the season and one of four he has hit during an eight-game stretch in which he has reached safely every time out. He is batting.306 over that run, going 11-for-36 while adding eight runs and eight RBI.

Caminero's surge has come with consistent production rather than a single breakout night, and Wednesday fit the pattern. The Rays needed only one extra-base hit to put the game away, and he supplied it.

That leaves the focus on whether the hot streak keeps rolling. Caminero has already turned eight straight games into six homers, and the next test is whether the contact and power hold once the streak gets a little harder to sustain.
