Comcast is connecting more than 4,200 new homes and businesses in Adrian, Archie and Butler, Missouri, to multi-gigabit, symmetrical Internet, a buildout the company says will bring Xfinity service to the three communities by 2027.
The project gives the towns access to Comcast’s full residential lineup, including high-speed Internet, streaming, mobile, voice and home security. Residents can check Xfinity.com/MyTown and enter their addresses for details on construction timing and when service may be available.
The expansion matters because it extends Comcast’s network footprint deeper into rural Missouri at a time when communities continue to treat broadband as a basic piece of infrastructure. Adrian, Archie and Butler now join nearly 65 million homes and businesses nationwide with access to the network.
Rick Brattin called the broadband buildout a major victory for rural Missouri, saying reliable high-speed broadband is no longer optional and is now the backbone of economic growth, workforce development and opportunity. Sherri Gallick said bringing advanced broadband infrastructure to communities like Archie and Adrian reflects a real commitment to expanding opportunity, while Dane Diehl said expanding high-speed broadband in Butler is a meaningful step forward for the community.
The Missouri work is part of Comcast’s latest investment in the state and follows additional expansions announced in early 2025 for Concordia, Harrisonville, Higginsville, Lexington, Napoleon and Wellington, which were expected to be completed by the end of 2026. Kalyn Hove said the move into three additional Missouri cities underscores Comcast’s continued commitment to bringing high-speed, reliable connectivity to more communities across the state.
The question now is execution: Comcast has set 2027 as the target for finishing the Adrian, Archie and Butler project, and the benefit to residents will depend on how quickly construction turns into service on the ground.
