The recalled from Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday, and the 25-year-old left-hander is scheduled to make his major league debut against the Mets that night. Minnesota optioned to Triple-A in the corresponding move.

Prielipp arrives after a winding path to the majors. The No. 48 overall draft pick out of Alabama in 2022, he had early in his sophomore season and later underwent an internal brace procedure in 2023 to repair his left ulnar collateral ligament. He pitched only seven NCAA starts, then threw 30 innings across his first two pro seasons combined before logging a career-high 82 2/3 innings in 2025.

His numbers in Triple-A this season helped force the call. Prielipp entered the year with 16 2/3 innings, a 2.30 ERA and a 34.9% strikeout rate, though his 12.7% walk rate showed the control still lagging behind the stuff. He averaged 95.7 mph on his four-seamer in 2026 and mixed in a new curveball, slider and changeup.

Prielipp was once regarded as one of the top arms in the organization and entered the season ranked 81st on ’s top 100 list. His debut gives Minnesota another look at a pitcher whose talent has long outpaced his innings total, and whose health has kept delaying the moment he reached the majors.
