Maxx Crosby trade fallout still echoes as 2026 Draft nears

Maxx Crosby’s failed Ravens trade and a booming betting market have kept the Raiders star at the center of NFL chatter ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Maxx Crosby was traded to Baltimore, then sent back to Las Vegas when the deal collapsed after he failed his physical. The Ravens reclaimed their two first-round picks after citing medical concerns about Crosby’s knee, and the Raiders edge rusher answered on social media with four words: “I’m a Raider. I’m Back.”

The fallout has lasted far longer than the transaction itself. By April 23, the market for Crosby’s next team on Kalshi had nearly $2.5 million in total volume, with the “Stays with Las Vegas” contract surging from roughly 25% to the 75% range when the Ravens deal fell apart in March and staying there since. For a move that never officially took hold, it has generated more drama in six weeks than most NFL stories do in an entire offseason.

Las Vegas said it never wanted to move Crosby, even as it was willing to honor his request, a detail that made the failed trade feel less like a simple misfire than a rare collision between player leverage and medical reality. The timing matters now because the 2026 NFL Draft is set for April 23, and every fresh market shift keeps the edge rusher’s future in view even after he returned to a Raiders roster that now includes Kirk Cousins at quarterback.

Philadelphia has emerged as the most surprising name near the top of the board, even after its position slipped 14 points from a recent peak. That kind of movement is what has kept the Crosby market alive: not certainty, but the possibility that another contender could still make a push. For now, though, the strongest signal is the one already on the board — Crosby remains in Las Vegas, and the trade that nearly sent him to Baltimore is still the defining line in his spring.
