PITTSBURGH — will join The Show as an analyst for round one of the , which is set to take place in Pittsburgh next week. McAfee said Cowher will be live on the set and added that he spoke with the former Steelers coach yesterday.

“Coach Bill Cowher will be joining us,” McAfee said. “Yeah, Coach Bill Cowher will be live on the set.” He also said Cowher was excited and that the last thing he heard from him was “Homework time.” McAfee said the crew is going to try to piece together the best draft coverage it can.

The addition gives McAfee’s draft coverage another head coach with a Super Bowl ring. During last year’s draft, he had former and current Steelers head coach on as an analyst. Cowher brings a far deeper Pittsburgh connection: he coached the Steelers for 15 years, guided them to a Super Bowl title in 2005 and built a run that included 11 winning seasons, 10 playoff appearances, eight division titles, six AFC Championship games and two Super Bowl appearances.

Cowher remains one of the faces of the Steelers’ organization, and his place in the city’s football history was cemented again when he was inducted into the in 2020. His presence on McAfee’s set gives the first round of the draft a distinctly Pittsburgh feel, with a franchise icon helping shape the conversation in the city where the event is being staged.

The setup also underscores how much McAfee leans on recognizable football voices when the draft draws the biggest audience. For Pittsburgh, Cowher’s return to the spotlight is the part that will matter most.
