The Los Angeles Dodgers try to salvage a split of their four-game series with the Colorado Rockies on Monday night, with left-hander Justin Wrobleski starting against fellow lefty Jose Quintana. Los Angeles won the opener 7-1, then dropped the next two games.
Wrobleski gets the ball after his best outing of the season, when he threw eight shutout innings against the New York Mets, allowed two hits, walked none and struck out two. He has also worked 9.1 innings at Coors Field in three relief appearances, giving up three earned runs with a 2.89 ERA, 11 strikeouts and four walks.
Quintana, who joined Colorado this offseason on a one-year, $6 million deal, has had a rough start to the year. He has thrown eight total innings in two starts, allowing five runs on seven hits and eight walks for a 5.63 ERA. He missed the first two weeks of April with a hamstring strain, then returned last week against the Houston Astros and lasted just 3.2 innings.
The matchup matters because the Dodgers lead the league with 5.76 runs per game in 2026, yet they arrive on Monday after back-to-back losses. That makes Wrobleski’s start central to whether Los Angeles can leave the series even and avoid losing ground after opening with a comfortable win.
Shohei Ohtani has also had success against Quintana in his career, going 3-for-7 with three home runs and five walks. If that trend continues, the Dodgers have a straightforward chance to finish the series with momentum instead of a letdown after the opener.
