Busch Light Apple is back again in 2026, giving fans of the mass-market fruit-flavored beer another shot at a drink Anheuser-Busch had already launched, shelved and revived more than once. The apple-forward lager, which has 4.1% ABV, returned after a sold-out comeback in 2025 and now has another run on shelves.
Anheuser-Busch first launched Busch Light Apple in the summer of 2020, brought it back in 2021 and then took it nationwide in 2022 after the beer sold more than one million cases in under nine weeks. It was officially discontinued in 2023, only for the brand to find out the pull of the product had not faded. Krystyn Stowe said last year’s return created a frenzy among fans and that the excitement kept building when the beer was announced again for this year. She also said fans made it clear how much they missed the crisp, refreshing apple flavor, calling the decision to bring it back an easy one. The company leaned into the cult appeal with intentionally odd promotional content and even a limited-edition Apple Suit, described as a bright red camouflage hunting outfit.
The twist is that Busch Light Apple has long behaved less like a seasonal curiosity than a recurring event. Anheuser-Busch thanked “the apple” for its service when it discontinued the beer in 2023, but the 2025 sellout showed the farewell was not final. This latest return answers the question the brand had left hanging: the apple is back because the demand never really went away, and the company is still willing to feed it.
