A painter has sued bill belichick after an alleged fall at a Nantucket property in June 2024, saying the coach’s company left a construction area unsafe and that the slip caused serious injuries.
The suit was filed in Nantucket Superior Court by painter Andrew Jackson against Forty Five Fair Street LLC, which the filing says is managed by Belichick. Jackson’s complaint says construction practices created an unsafe work area that led to the fall.
The complaint alleges Jackson sustained a severe right ankle injury and seeks nearly $300,000 for medical expenses, lost wages and other damages. It also notes he received workers’ compensation benefits but retains the right to bring a third‑party negligence claim against non‑employer responsible parties.
Jackson’s filing lists several alleged failures: allowing hazardous conditions to exist, not maintaining or adequately inspecting the work area, failing to remedy known dangers, and not warning workers of unsafe conditions. The suit says the company breached duties in the ownership, operation and supervision of the premises.
Public records show Belichick bought the Nantucket property for roughly $4.8 million in 2024. Belichick is the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels.
The case is now pending in Nantucket Superior Court.
