Charter Communications said Thursday that the Spectrum TV App is now available on Google TV and other Android TV OS devices, giving customers another way to stream live TV. The company also said the app has been added to Xumo Stream Box, Amazon Fire TV devices and Apple TV.
Charter said the app is already available on Android and iOS smartphones and tablets, Amazon Fire Tablets, LG smart TVs, Roku, Samsung smart TVs, VIZIO smart TVs, Xbox and Xumo TV. The move comes as the company tries to make its service easier to use across more screens and meet viewers where they are watching now, rather than where they watched a few years ago.
That push mattered in Friday trading, when CHTR shares were up 0.13% at $236.27 in premarket action. The stock was trading near its 52-week high, 7.5% above its 20-day simple moving average and 10.5% above its 100-day simple moving average, while still 4.3% below its 200-day simple moving average. The relative strength index stood at 62.01, and moving average convergence divergence was above the signal line. Charter carries a Hold rating with an average price target of $258.11.
For Charter, the timing also matters because the company is set to report earnings on April 24, 2026. The broader message is straightforward: Spectrum TV is being pushed onto more devices so customers have fewer barriers to watching, and the company is using that expansion to strengthen its footing in a streaming market that keeps fragmenting by platform.
The remaining question is not whether Charter can place the app on more devices. It is whether that wider reach translates into a stronger relationship with customers at a time when investors are already testing the stock against a crowded field of streaming choices and an earnings date just ahead.
