Aleksandar Pavlović is back in the frame for FC Bayern München’s away match at SC Freiburg on Saturday at 15:30 Uhr. Vincent Kompany said at his Friday news conference that the 21-year-old was “wieder dabei.”
The midfielder had missed Bayern’s previous Bundesliga match against 1. FC Union Berlin because of hip problems, and he also sat out Germany’s international matches after that. For Bayern, his return is a simple but useful squad update before a tricky trip to Freiburg.
That timing matters because the club is moving from a period without him straight into another league test. Kompany did not dress the update up as more than it was: Pavlović is available again, and Bayern can count him in for the weekend squad.
The one open question is how much he will be involved after the layoff. Pavlović is fit enough to travel back into contention, but his absence from both club and country shows how recently the hip issue kept him out. Bayern now have to decide whether to use him from the start or bring him back more cautiously.
