Faith Torrez won the NCAA all-around title on a night when she made her first all-around appearance of the season and delivered the kind of score line that leaves no room for doubt. She posted a 9.9375 on vault, a 9.9500 on bars, a 9.9500 on beam and a 9.9500 on floor.
Oklahoma advanced to the 2026 NCAA gymnastics national championship after posting a 198.3000 total in Session II, while Minnesota joined the Sooners, Florida and LSU in the final. Minnesota beat UCLA with a 197.4625 total, edging the Bruins' 197.2750 and reaching the championship for the first time in program history as the lowest seed to make the final since seeding began in 2014.
Oklahoma separated itself in Rotation 3, where its beam lineup produced a 49.5375 total. Ella Murphy scored a 9.9375 on beam, Torrez matched her own title-winning standard with a 9.9500 on beam, and Keira Wells added a 9.9750 on vault. Minnesota kept pace with a 49.3875 bar performance that included a 9.9625 from Lacie Saltzmann, enough to push the Golden Gophers past UCLA and into Saturday's meet.
The national championship is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday and will air on ABC and +. Oklahoma enters with seven NCAA titles, including last season's championship, while Florida has won three NCAA titles and LSU has won one. Minnesota's arrival changes the shape of the final, but the numbers make the hierarchy plain: Oklahoma is still the standard, and Torrez is the gymnast who made the day feel larger than one more trophy chase.
