Mattel is putting Skeletor’s weapon back in fans’ hands. The company said the life-size Masters of the Universe Chronicles Havoc Staff will go up for pre-order on April 15, 2026, through Amazon.com and MattelCreations.com for $189.99.
The prop replica is built to do more than sit on a shelf. It features button-activated lights, sounds and smoke, includes smoke solution and has an Active Mode that triggers effects from a refillable fog fluid reservoir. There is also a Sentry Mode that uses infrared sensors below the ram’s eyes to detect movement within 6 inches, turning the staff into a display piece that reacts when someone comes near.
Mattel described the item as a life-sized version of Skeletor’s Havoc Staff as seen in the Masters of the Universe film, placing it in the company’s Chronicles line. The setup also points to repeat use: additional non-toxic water-based fog fluid can be purchased separately at most hobby stores, a small but important detail for anyone planning to keep the effects running after the first burst of smoke.
The appeal is obvious. This is not a static collectible but a playable replica aimed at the kind of buyer who wants the staff to light up, hiss and react on command. Mattel’s own tone in the release made that plain, pairing the product pitch with Skeletor’s signature taunt, “Nyahh!”
For collectors, April 15 is the date that turns a display piece into a purchase. For everyone else, it is another reminder that nostalgia now comes with batteries, sensors and a fog reservoir.
