Ten passengers could be facing charges after what RCMP described as disruptive behaviour aboard a WestJet flight bound for Cabo San Lucas early Saturday at Vancouver International Airport.
RCMP said officers were called to YVR at around 7:30 a.m. after a report of disruptive behaviour aboard flight WS2662. Aline Dumalski said a group of passengers were behaving in an unruly manner on the Mexico-bound aircraft, and police removed the group from the plane. The flight later departed again for Mexico later Saturday morning.
On Tuesday, RCMP said the passengers were allegedly not following crew instructions, raising safety concerns and causing a delay. The force said the passengers could face charges, but did not say whether any have been laid.
The incident involved a WestJet flight scheduled for Cabo San Lucas, a route that resumed only after the group was taken off the aircraft. The account leaves one key point unresolved: whether the 10 passengers identified by police will actually be charged, or whether the matter ends with the removal from the flight and the delay that followed.
