Cooper Bowser committed to Arkansas after a Monday visit with the Razorbacks, giving the program a 6-foot-11 transfer forward who arrived with one of the cleaner statistical profiles in the portal. Bowser, listed at 215 pounds, becomes another piece for Arkansas as it continues to reshape its frontcourt.
Bowser averaged 14 points, six rebounds, two assists and one block in 30 minutes per game this season for Furman, starting 22 of his 25 appearances. He missed all of January with a toe injury, but still scored in double figures 20 times and made over 77% of his shots, including nearly 82% at the rim, according to CBB Analytics.
He also gave Furman a strong final showing in the NCAA Tournament opening round, finishing with nine points, five rebounds, four assists and two blocks in an 82-71 loss to UConn. That performance came after a season in which he flashed efficiency and versatility, traits that helped lift him to No. 167 among transfers in the portal and No. 23 among centers by 247Sports.
For Arkansas, the commitment arrives after a search that had linked the Razorbacks to other big men, including Flory Bidunga, Moustapha Thiam, Somto Cyril and Mo Sylla. The portal process remains far from finished, with several transfers still uncommitted, but Bowser’s decision gives Arkansas a proven, productive option in the middle after his Monday visit turned into a pledge.
