Christian Braun watched Denver survive a wild finish Saturday, when the Nuggets beat the San Antonio Spurs 136-134 in overtime at home to extend their winning streak to eight games.

Aaron Gordon tied it at 124-124 with a cutting dunk in the final seconds of regulation, then Nikola Jokić closed it out by making two free throws in the final seconds of overtime. Dylan Harper answered with a long 3-pointer at the buzzer for San Antonio, but it came too late.

Jokić carried Denver with 40 points, 13 assists, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks, while Victor Wembanyama put up 34 points, 18 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 blocks for the Spurs. The game matched two teams with a lot at stake in the standings, with San Antonio entering at 59-19 and second in the Western Conference with four games left, and Denver tied with the Los Angeles Lakers at 50 wins for third place in the West.

The loss snapped San Antonio's 11-game winning streak and kept the pressure on both sides as the regular season winds down. The Nuggets and Spurs will meet again in San Antonio on April 12 for the regular-season finale, a rematch that could still matter in the West race.
